Job Description

As a Solution Architect, you will facilitate the standardization and validation of the application architecture and development strategies.

In an entrepreneurial environment, the ideal candidate will be a generalist who wants to help customers, design systems and do the development of the required tasks. He/she should be able to flex in his/her role as required, yet with an in-depth knowledge of software quality, cloud pattern, platform design, and enterprise software.

As a Solution Architect you will participate in the complete software development lifecycle. The day-to-day will be:
• Design, develop, and maintain applications and services
• Own and review deliverables for accuracy, quality, application performance, and completeness
• Lead the analysis and design of systems, help shape system requirements
• Develop prototypes to demonstrate new ideas or illustrate the use of new technologies
• Work and collaborate with a talented team in an entrepreneurial environment
• Embrace opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
• Evangelize new tools, methodologies, and technologies within the q-leap team

Your profile:
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field preferred
• You have 8+ years of in-depth work experience using Java or any OOP language
• You have extensive experience in enterprise systems and software architecture, design, and development

You have good understanding of:
• The entire technology stack, from front-end to data tier and networks
• Object Oriented and SOA design concepts
• Unit testing and test-driven methodologies: e.g. (A)TDD and BDD
• API Design
• Distributed systems, concurrency, scalability, and fault tolerant designs

You have experience with:
• Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure or IBM)
• ETL, ESB and Data Quality
• Data modelling and databases
• Developing well-structured code and testable software

The following experiences are considered an asset:
• Any experience with Talend products
• Experience in agile product development
• Designing Continuous Integration, Testing and Deployment Solutions

You have the ability to:
• Manage tasks with varying priorities
• Work independently with minimal supervision in an entrepreneurial organization
• You have excellent written and oral communication skills
• You are fluent in English and French (mandatory), any other language would be considered as an asset.
